Ok, this one is done now! When I started writing this--I think in 2016 or 2017--it was because the idea of Chapter 4, Chapter 7, and Chapter 8 were haunting me! After I finished Ethan in Episodes, I went back and started editing this story. At the time I wrote it I was too much influenced by a certain writer--who I won't give away because I don't want to color the reading experience falsely--and much of the editing process for this one was to remove as many amateurish imitations of that writer as possible. Additionally, the first time I wrote it, I didn't give some characters or circumstances the respect they deserved and this edit allowed me to fix some of those problems. The Ian entry in chapter 6 might come off as disjoint, a criticism I'm willing to take. In my defense, there were a few purposes for including that mini-section, not least of which was present-tense Roy closing the chapter and episode with, "He stepped on Nicky, who I loved."
Alright, I'm not exactly sure what will come next! I know I'm going to be writing something about The Picture of Dorian Gray. I had an August 10th deadline set for that; however, due to a reading project that's come ahead of that one, I am pushing that deadline to September 15. I have a couple of other short story ideas, so you may see something pop up in that regard.
After the Wilde musings planned for September, it might be a while: I am having an internal debate with myself about the possibility of trying a novel, one that shows "virtue her feature, scorn her own image, and the very age and body of the time his form and pressure."
